Bazaar of Istanbul Arts

Transformation of a Madrasa in the Stage of History: From Cedid Mehmed Efendi Madrasa to Bazaar of Istanbul Arts...

Istanbul Sanatları Çarşısı (Bazaar of Istanbul Arts) is one of the important places with its historical texture dating back to 18th century Ottoman architecture which survived until the present day. It is home to old masters of Istanbul crafts with a tradition, who are, now, so small in number, and young artists as well as their unrivaled works, each of which is prepared with great meticulousness. Istanbul Kahvehanesi', representative of a century-old coffee culture which engages both stomach and the eye, offers a versatile bazaar experience to visitors.

Bir Turing kuruluşu olan İstanbul Sanatları Çarşısı, 1986 yılında metruk halde bulunan Cedid Mehmed Efendi Medresesinin, Türkiye Turing ve Otomobil Kurumu tarafından gerçekleştirilen onarımı sonrası çarşı fonksiyonu kazanmasıyla, turizm hizmetine açılmıştır.
